
Pet Care Hub was started by Directors Dr Annika Oksa and Nurse Tabatha Whitehead in 2022. The first clinic was fitted out and opened for business in January 2023 in Petrie. Both Dr Annika and Nurse Tabatha have a rich history in the Veterinary industry, with a combined experience of over 40yrs.

Dr Annika Oksa
BSc BVMS (Hons) PhD MANZCVS DACVP
A graduate of Murdoch University with a Bachelor in Science and a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (hons) in 2005, Dr Annika commenced a rotating internship role at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre shortly after graduation, where she met her now business partner, Tabatha. It was here she had her first exposure to Veterinary Oncology, an area she has a keen interest in to this day.
After completing her internship, she moved on to a residency at Mudoch University in Anatomic Pathology and in 2009 passed the membership examinations, obtaining her memberships to the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Pathology. All whilst opening and running two veterinary practices in Murrumba Downs and Dayboro and starting a family.
Dr Annika completed her Board Examination becoming a certified Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and most recently completed her PhD in Cancer Immunology. Not only is she fascinated by pathology, she’s got a keen interest in all things reproduction and is an active breeder of Pharaoh Hounds and Portuguese Podengo’s.
You’ll find Dr Annika to be a friendly and compassionate Veterinarian, who is highly skilled and knowledgable. Annika takes great pride in working with her clients and patients to find treatment solutions that suit every patient and pet owner as unique individuals.

Nurse Tabatha Whitehead

Starting in the industry back in 1998 as a Veterinary Nurse in a small one person veterinary clinic on Brisbane’s north side, Tabatha quickly established herself as a prominent veterinary professional in Australia after securing a role as one of Australia’s first Oncology Nurses alongside Australia’s only Specialist Veterinary Oncologist at that time, based within University of Queensland Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
In 2004 Tabatha assisted with the opening of the first purpose-built Specialist Veterinary Hospital to house a linear accelerator radiation unit to treat cancer in animals, in the southern hemisphere. It was here she progressed from Oncology Nurse to Emergency and Head Nurse then on to Operations and Marketing Manager. Overseeing approximately sixty of the country’s best Nurses and Specialists in Oncology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dentistry and Ophthalmology, along with adjunct services including Physiotherapy and Emergency.
After ten years in this role she moved on to manage another small general practice for several years before making the transition into education; starting her first consulting business and working for a private college. Through this role, she actively contributed to the development of new training packages, whilst training and assessing students studying Veterinary Nursing in Australia and all over the world. A consistent face at conferences in Australia and Overseas, Tabatha has presented educational lectures to nurses and vets in a wide array of topics.
Not only the friendly face at the front counter at Pet Care Hub, Tabatha is a skilled Veterinary Nurse in all areas, with a special interest in emergency and internal medicine nursing.

Dr Jennifer Attridge BVSc (hons) MANZCVS (Animal Reproduction)
Dr Jenni has worked in emergency medicine and reproduction. She has completed a residency in animal reproduction and is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) in Animal Reproduction.
Passionate about all aspects of veterinary care, Jenni enjoys broadening her horizons by continually learning and taking on new challenges within the field; she is currently involved with some research in reproductive organs!
Outside of work, she’s kept busy by her two Border Collies and cherishes the balance they bring her in life.


Dr Grace Loo BVSc (hons)
A graduate of The University of Queensland, Dr Grace has worked across both general practice and emergency clinics. She enjoys the balance of routine care and the challenges that comes with emergency work, and is committed to providing calm, clear and compassionate care.
Grace values open communication with pet parents and takes a practical, evidence-based approach to veterinary care.
Owned by a crazy dog and a ‘what is personal space’ kitty, Grace enjoys a good movie binge watching day.

Nurse Sarah Cert IV VN
Sarah joined the industry in 2013 and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in General Practice, Reproduction and Emergency Nursing.
You’ll find Nurse Sarah at Pet Care Hub running our Puppy Preschool Courses and helping out when Nurse Tabatha is away from the practice.
Nurse Jess Cert IV VN
With over a decade of experience in the veterinary industry, Jess is originally from Sydney & made the move to Queensland in 2020, where she continues to thrive in her profession. Having worked in three major emergency & specialist clinics, alongside general practices; Jess has gained invaluable expertise in all areas of nursing. Passionate about animal welfare, Jess is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of both pets & their owners. We are extremely lucky to have someone of this calibre at the Pet Care Hub!
